2009Consolidates its positioning in the Mobile Computing sector by participating at events, some of which international, such as the Mobile Word Congress in Barcelona, where Softec is the only Italian RIM partner present. In addition, with the mobile solutions for RCS, Softec establishes itself as a leading producer of multidevice and multi-channel solutions for the publishing world. |
2008In order to consolidate its expertise and identify new and interesting specialisations, Softec becomes a partner of prestigious university and cutting-edge research centre, Milan Polytechnic, and gets involved first hand in activities related to the "Mobile & Wireless" and "Enterprise 2.0" Observatories. Softec signs an agreement with the University of Siena, offering talented young students technologically innovative study environments in return for their contributions. |
2007Softec obtains quality certification and plans to maintain this commitment with a special working group. After over seven years, Softec leaves the Dada group, buying back its shares and switching the focus of its business to "mobile computing" for companies. Telecom Italia chooses Softec as its technology partner to bring the “mobile culture” to Italian businesses.

2006Participation in ambitious projects in the university arena and numerous partnerships with outstanding figures at the various universities of Tuscany strengthen the company’s partnership with the Universities of Pisa and Florence.
2004Softec officially moves its registered office to Florence to facilitate its relationships and contacts with the public institutions in the area, as well as with its customers. |
2005Research in Motion® (RIM®), the Canadian company that produces the BlackBerry®, arrives on the Italian market with Softec. This partnership involves the development of simple but effective solutions to facilitate the use of what, in the space of a few years, will become the most popular mobile device for the business world and beyond. An alliance begins that will see Softec assume a leading position on the mobile market alongside the main Italian and European giants. |
2000Dada, a fast growing Florence-based internet company dealing in web-related services and solutions, acquires 50% of Softec. The combination of Softec’s technical and planning expertise and the potential of the web proves to be a success, so much so that in just a few years Dada will become a multinational and Softec, capitalising on the experience and expertise it has acquired, will find its reference market and establish itself as a leading Italian company in the area of mobile technology. With its group of young and tireless entrepreneurs, Softec flanks SAP in its technical and functional consultancy activities at Autostrade S.p.A., one of the biggest companies in Italy. Faced with a huge and fairly complex project, Softec demonstrates its excellent knowledge in the area of ERP and its specialisation with the SAP platform enables it to establish itself as a leading company in Central Italy. |
1997Softec is founded on the basis of an idea conceived by the four founding partners who, despite their different expertise, experiences and methods of approaching the market, share an entrepreneurial spirit and a strong passion for the world of Information Technology. A team of around twenty people promotes itself as a support group for the major consultancy firms (Andersen Consulting, Bull, IBM ...) and stands out for its expertise, professionalism and reliability at a time when talking about technology was certainly less easy than it is now.
