Today

Softec develops innovative technology platforms, solutions and services, based on paradigms of the Internet of Things and Enterprise 2.0, that can be used with the most common web and mobile apparatus, in order to improve our access to the information on the net, improve relations and cooperation among people, and help our customers to meet their corporate goals.

2010

Softec evolves naturally to develop crucial technologies for users so they can work and interact across multiple channels, at all times and in all contexts, whether at work or in private.
The company further strengthens its positioning in the Mobile sector, receiving the qualification of Elite Partner Member® from RIM, a prestigious acknowledgement with which the company presents itself, for the second year running, at international events such as “Mobile World Congress 2010” (the only Italian partner present) and “BlackBerry EMEA Alliance Summit”. Still in the Mobile sector, the partnership with Samsung and the focus on touchscreen technology confirms the company’s leading position.
Furthermore, the consolidated experience acquired thanks to partnerships with numerous regional and provincial Confindustria Associations enables Softec to establish its Enterprise 2.0 solutions at national level, on both the B2B and Public Administration markets. Strengthened by its renewed and successful partnership with the Milan Polytechnic School of Management, it sponsors and participates, with excellent results, in the ICT & Management Enterprise 2.0” and “Mobile Payment” Observatories.
Increasingly inclined towards technological innovation and the search for new business contexts, the company invests in R&D, laying the foundations for strategic collaborations with major partners specialised in Information Technology and with the most high-profile universities in the country.

2009

Consolidates its positioning in the Mobile Computing sector by participating at events, some of which international, such as the Mobile Word Congress in Barcelona, where Softec is the only Italian RIM partner present.

In addition, with the mobile solutions for RCS, Softec establishes itself as a leading producer of multidevice and multi-channel solutions for the publishing world.
The partnership with Confindustria Toscana makes it possible to develop a project that represents, at national level, one of the first and most significant experiences in the Enterprise 2.0 arena.
Softec therefore represents an authoritative figure on what is still an embryonic market, but one which has great growth potential, as recognised by authoritative institutions such as Milan Polytechnic

2008

In order to consolidate its expertise and identify new and interesting specialisations,  Softec becomes a partner of prestigious university and cutting-edge research centre, Milan Polytechnic,  and gets involved first hand in activities related to the "Mobile & Wireless" and "Enterprise 2.0" Observatories.

Softec signs an agreement with the University of Siena, offering talented young students technologically innovative study environments in return for their contributions.

2007

Softec obtains quality certification and plans to maintain this commitment with a special working group. After over seven years, Softec leaves the Dada group, buying back its shares and switching the focus of its business to "mobile computing" for companies. Telecom Italia chooses Softec as its technology partner to bring the “mobile culture” to Italian businesses.

2006

Participation in ambitious projects in the university arena and numerous partnerships with outstanding figures at the various universities of Tuscany strengthen the company’s partnership with the Universities of Pisa and Florence.

2004

Softec officially moves its registered office to Florence to facilitate its relationships and contacts with the public institutions in the area, as well as with its customers.

2005

Research in Motion® (RIM®), the Canadian company that produces the BlackBerry®, arrives on the Italian market with Softec. This partnership involves the development of simple but effective solutions to facilitate the use of what, in the space of a few years, will become the most popular mobile device for the business world and beyond. An alliance begins that will see Softec assume a leading position on the mobile market alongside the main Italian and European giants.

2000

Dada, a fast growing Florence-based internet company dealing in web-related services and solutions, acquires 50% of Softec. The combination of Softec’s technical and planning expertise and the potential of the web proves to be a success, so much so that in just a few years Dada will become a multinational and Softec, capitalising on the experience and expertise it has acquired, will find its reference market and establish itself as a leading Italian company in the area of mobile technology.

With its group of young and tireless entrepreneurs, Softec flanks SAP in its technical and functional consultancy activities at Autostrade S.p.A., one of the biggest companies in Italy. Faced with a huge and fairly complex project, Softec demonstrates its excellent knowledge in the area of ERP and its specialisation with the SAP platform enables it to establish itself as a leading company in Central Italy.

1997

Softec is founded on the basis of an idea conceived by the four founding partners who, despite their different expertise, experiences and methods of approaching the market, share an entrepreneurial spirit and a strong passion for the world of Information Technology.

A team of around twenty people promotes itself as a support group for the major consultancy firms (Andersen Consulting, Bull, IBM ...) and stands out for its expertise, professionalism and reliability at a time when talking about technology was certainly less easy than it is now.
